IF: Lesson
This week I wanted to do "a lessin in dressin" for the aspiring pop star. I have missed musicians with a lot of personal expression when it comes to fashion so it has been cool for me to see people like Nicki Minaj, Katy Perry, Amy Winehouse, and of course, Lady Gaga putting the fun back into pop star style. And I love drawing celebrities—they make it so easy when they look so colorful!

IF: Bicycle
When I was about eight I had a super cool bike with a sparkly-red banana seat. On the thing that covers the chain it said Eat My Dust and had a bunch of flames painted on it. I LOVED that bike. And for some crazy reason I thought I was some kind of daredevil – I would literally stand on it with one leg and coast around. In my mind I was putting on a performance for the passersby. Until the day I hit a crack on the sidewalk and came crashing to the ground. I was trapped and bleeding under the bike. But I still loved it!
Which reminds me, I noticed most of the drawings included helmets. I say helmet-shmelmet. In my day we were tough kids who rode hard, played hard and got hurt hard – with no cranial protection what so ever. And we turned out just fine! (I think) :o)

IF: Journey
A series of Portable Landscapes made from cigarette boxes is a project I have been wanting to work on for a while. The word Journey seemed like a nice place to start. And I figured what better place to begin than my hometown, Brooklyn, NY. For those of you not familiar with Coney Island my little landscape includes the Wonder Wheel, the Astroland Tower, and The Cyclone. I have some finishing touches to add but I wanted to get this up before Friday! Here are some other views:
